DOMA Leads to Unfair Treatment
31 03 2006Another Federal Income Tax filing deadline rolls around. Another year to be reminded that gay persons are not equal under the law to our straight counterparts.

Justice Scalia’s Stance on Gay Rights
30 03 2006Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia seemed to suggest that "homosexual conduct" should remain a criminal act. With all the Christian love in my heart, I have a message for him in his own words.
Oh, and he is quoted as saying he has nothing against homosexuals. I would hate to hear his opinion if he did.

McCain Flip Flops
29 03 2006I guess they all just eventually cave in and give up any sense of principle. I had such hopes for McCain. I supported him for 2000 and thought he got a very raw deal. I was hoping to support him for 2008 but alas, it seems he is heading to the crossroads in order to get elected.

Delay – “Give Me Back My Gun”

Et Tu John?
28 03 2006John McCain was probably the best bet for a moderate national Republican candidate for President in 2008. Seems however that he has begun to court the dark side. I guess it is true that no Republican can be elected without the support of the bigoted far right and that says a lot about the Republican party. Theirs might be a big tent but admission is strictly limited.

Homophobia Denies Brokeback Oscar
6 03 2006I’m not ready to go quite this far. The Oscars are voted on by members of the academy and heck, half of the academy was in Crash. A picture should not win because of its subject matter but because it is an excellent film. I always thought Good Night and Good Luck a better film than Brokeback Mountain and it was my choice for Best Picture.

Out of Sight, Out of Mind
6 03 2006I can’t quite put my finger on it but something about this post over at NRO smacks of disdain. Maybe it is the ending sentence which sums up the conservative position regarding gay people: We have no problem if you exist as long as we don’t have to see you or hear about you.
