But as the saying goes, “Where’s the beef?”
Barack Obama is now considered the Democratic front-runner for President. His almost rock star like presence has taken him far, but is there substance behind that pretty face?
Obama graduated magna cum laude from Harvard Law. After graduation he worked as a civil rights attorney and he has also taught constitutional law at the University of Chicago Law School. In 1996 he bagan his political career serving in the Illinois State Senate and in 2004 was elected to serve in the United States Senate representing Illinois.
Obviously an intelligent and thoughtful person, his legal background is impressive but this makes a good Attorney General, not a President.
Where is the foreign policy background? Where is the economics experience? Where is the experience in running a governmental entity or any kind of entity for that matter? The list can go on.
In the very near future the United States will face serious problems both on the domestic and international fronts. Hopefully, the American public will realize in time that we need more than just a great speaker or someone who looks good in the “role” of President. We need a person whose background and experience have prepared him not for a good day in court but for a great day on the world stage.
