I am thoroughly a fan of Andrew Sullivan and read him daily, but this Ron Paul comment:
“The Ron Paul Campaign is quite something isn’t it? Almost an open-source campaign. Just like the Nazis.”
is pretty much a cheap shot. I realize that Andrew hates Hillary and hopes to find a Republican candidate worthy of his support (in the meantime he is all a twitter over Obama), but this isn’t a critique. It is an outright baseless slam.
Umm, I think it’s called “irony.” Perhaps poorly executed, but irony, nonetheless. (Lots of hate-bloggers are linking Ron Paul to neo-Nazis — Sullivan is pointing out how “un-Nazi” the Paul campaign and its supporters are.)
