About the author…
I was born in 1962 deep within the piney woods of Northeast Texas. Raised on a working farm in a devoutly Southern Baptist family, I still hold to the traditions and values I witnessed over the years. I believe hard work, honesty and integrity are the true mark of a person and that each individual should be judged by their character and actions, not by whatever social, cultural or economic group into which they might fall. A political “orphan”, I find myself supporting ideas from all sides of the spectrum, left to right.
In the interest of full disclosure, I am a gay man who, since 1995, has been blessed with a partner that truly can be described as my “better half.” Together we are raising his son and we are very proud of him.
I hold a BBA in Accounting and Economics from a Baptist University. I have pursued graduate work in Political Science and Public Administration. I am currently employed by an NPR affiliated public radio station.
